Default Heads freshened up and flowed today...BIG THANKS TO JPR!!!

Took my GTP heads over to Joe Prince to get flowed and checked out after I found some slight piston/valve contact evidence in my motor.

Unfortunately, we found 5 bent intake valves <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> Whats amazing is that I put up 444 RWHP and 124ish mph trap speeds with this situation <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> (it was PV clearance issues)

We changed out the standard Ferrera Intake valves to JPR spec valves and actually picked up a few more CFM over standard Farreras installed by GTP

Flow numbers weren't as impressive as I thought but Joe's thoughts were that the velocity at each flow was outstanding (by the way it sounded on the flow bench)

We flowed intakes only:
STD = std Ferrera valve
JPR = JPR spec Ferrera valve

Lift STD JPR
.100 62 67
.200 133 136
.300 194 196
.400 242 244
.450 262 265
.500 278 281
.550 288 291

Didn't even bother with .600 since I don't lift that high with the cam and under .550 is the majority of lift with the cam

Also installed new GM valveseals too

Thanks for taking the time to play with the heads today Joe <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

well locally here in the midwest, all these "305+ cfm" heads like GTP and MTI only flow 285-290 on local benches. these are std corrected flowbenches too just the same model as other companies claim to use.

wonder what gives? looks to me that your bench flows the same as ours out here.

we did hit 300 at 600 lift when we first started playing. We didn't really bother with any further tests at that lift since I only run a .574 cam

All the 305+ cfm LS1 heads, here in the south flow only 285-290 also.I would love to be at their shops to witness a 305+ cfm head. Our heads flow 293 at.550 and 297 at .600.This was on a superflow 1020.These were a perimeter bolt 97-98 5.7 heads.

Fireball, you were running the 232/.574 cam correct? How much did you have taken off the heads?

we only qualitatively said it had good velocity...we didn't measure it persay.

Damian, yes 232/232 .574/.574 112 .040 off the heads. My flycuts were cut in the wrong place (valve hit just above the flycut LOL)

oh well...it'll be right this time <img border="0" alt="[evil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />
