IRON BLOCK BUILD UP
I am in the beginnings of building an Iron block stroker with twin T3/T4 hybrids or larger. I am looking at a 409 with 6.0 aluminum heads, 8.5 to 9.0 compression with 20 pounds of boost max. What camshaft should be used, Drivability is not an issue. who would you recommend for the block work and head work. Budget is somewhat limited. I am going to use Oliver pro billet rods, the block will be studded all the way around. The heads will be cryotreated. Lunati or Callies crank is definately considered. Diamond or J@E pistons. Double roller chain. What lifters would be suggested? I have been quoted a cam of 600 lift or larger. What valve springs? max rpm should be around 7400. Would z06 intake be better or the aluminum holley intake? Any other ideas or know of someone I should talk to about this particular build up. I would like to build the motor myself less the machine work. I am shooting for 750 to the rear to begin with. Can this feasibly be done. Need help on these descisions so I can start buying the parts soon. Thanks for your help.

Re: IRON BLOCK BUILD UP
That is a very pricey build up. I know a guy that might be selling a twin turbo kit. It is all brand new high end turbo's. The cam should have a nice split duration with less lift. Maybe .565 or so on like 224/230 on a 115lsa. The intake should be a sheetmetal custom, or at the very least a holley thats been ported out. Lifters from crane or comp cams are the hydralic choices. I would keep the 4" bore with a line hone touch up, and a 4" stroke. You should also o-ring the chambers too run that much boost.

Re: IRON BLOCK BUILD UP
I am doing a 408 build up right now.I am using Callies crank,Callies billet rods, and Diamond pistons. I told them I would be running a 300 shot of nitrous on the car and Diamond made me a set of custom pistons. I bought the rotating assembly and the main stud kit and head stud kit through Callies.I even got a set of Callies Billet main caps but am not going to be using them now.If your interested pm me and I will tell you who to go through to get the setup. <img border="0" alt="[judgement]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_judge.gif" />

Harlan has been running a 228/224/112 and his car peaks around 6400 and he was shifting it at like 6500... So you might want to go with more camshaft. That 112 lsa will increase mid range tq at the expense of the top end...
I am running a blower cam from FMS, and the durations are in the 230's and the lsa is 115 +2. The cam is speced out for 7200 rpms shifts...
Don't do any camshafts with duration in the 24_ range that peak might be somewhere in the 7500-7700 range with a forced induction setup.
