Default a few rebuild Questions

I plan on doing a rebuild in the next month or so my car has 100k on it and i wana do a big cam and a killer set of heads. maybe the magic stick m3 or the T-Rex cam. Im pretty shure that im gona do a 347 but maybee a 383 or more but anyways. if i do the 347 whould it be a good idea to do a forged piston/rod combo or will the stock ones will be fine. THe car is not a daily drive and is used fo 1/4 mile racing. I was thing when doing the forged 347 i mite as well do the 383 because cost wont be that much more.... any ideas on how much more....

little? strokers add up faster then you think. a good well built 347 shortblock with off the shelf eagle and diamond parts should run you no more then 3k after you pay the core charge (if any). your not going to get a 383 for near that price.

If you're gonna spray you might as well get forged internals.

If you can afford it, go forged, and do it right the first time, especially if it's going to be a 1/4 mile only setup. And as the old addage goes, "There's no replacement for displacement!".
