Default ls6 cam swap

has anyone done this swap? i am thinking of swapping out my stock cam for the ls6 cam in my 98 Z28 and need to know what parts are needed to do this. i know that the ls6 cam runs a smaller base circle than the ls1 cam, so please help me out guys, thanks.

Ive installed 4 ls6 cams in 5.3l trucks and ls1 f-bodies....

You do not need to change the valve springs for this swap. I would say the hardened pushrods is a good idea though. I have over 20,000 miles on a stock valve spring with 02 ls6 cam, no problems.

I thought the minimum spring needed would be at least an LS6 spring with the .550 lift. I guess not though. What RPM do you shift at?

I bought STOCK length hardened pushrods, and the cam from here. http://www.sdpc2000.com/

went to GM and got 2002 LS6 springs. Using stock retainers and stopers bc i cant find any under 100 bucks like i wanted. Im going to gm in a few mins to order 2002 LS6 valve spring shims. got the gasket kit from the same web site above. There was a guy on here that got 23rwho from it but that seems a little low. I have a 150 shot so im looking at a ton of power. I dyno'd yesterday b4 the cam 326hp NA. 417hp 507tq 150 jets NOS 5177 kit. We are installing the cam next saturday and will let you know about the numbers
