Default Should I Go with a Smaller Cam or Flycut?

I'm considering getting a set of unmilled ported 5.3 heads some time in the future, most likely with 2.055" and 1.60" valves. Currently, I have stock heads and the T-ReX.

As much as I love the T-ReX, I don't want to deal with flycutting to make it fit. That said, if it would be worth more than 15 RWHP over any other cam I could use without flycutting, I would certainly consider keeping it.

What do you all think? How big could I go with the abovementioned heads? Should I get a smaller cam or stick with the T-ReX?

TIA,
Josh

Personally, I would recommend not fly cutting your pistons.

If you really must run such a large cam, buy new pistons with valve depressions.

A cam I’ve found that will fit with those heads and make very good power is the F13 from Futral Motorsports. If you look around, there is a thread comparing this cam to the G5X2. They pretty much make the same power in the same place but the F13 is smaller and shouldn’t have the same PTV issues.
