Default 1.8 rockers with a hot cam

Can pick up a set of Harland Sharp 1.8's really cheap, anyone see a problem with the 02 Ls-6 springs handling this.

I'm not exactley sure what the HS 1.8's would bump your lift to, but I would go ahead & add some 918's just to be on the safe side.

I was trying to avoid a spring change, I come up with .556 on the lift.

1.8 rockers will put you at about .555 lift, a little above what the LS6 springs are rated for (.550). I wouldn't risk it, just get a good set of springs or you may be sorry later...

Umm.........the valve lift of the 2002+ LS6 cam is .551/.547. The valve lift of the cam does not equal the valve spring rating. Those valve springs have are rated to .575" so you'll be fine with the .556 valve lift your 1.8 rockers will give you.

I stand corrected... Texas speed and Pace must be wrong too then when they rate that spring at .550 I still say change the springs with some that are rated higher for the extra lift the 1.8 rockers are going to give you. I guess I'm a little paranoid having lost one engine and not wanting to lose another...

Default 1.8 with hot cam

I have 1.8 jessels with hot cam and O2 LS6 heads. I think MTI or MMS also state the max lift of O2 LS6 springs at .575 lift.

That may be the 2001 LS6 valve springs they/you are referring to. Also, I agree with you 100% as personally, I'd get stouter springs. However, the quesion was simply, "Can you do it?"

considering how much rockers are and how little increase in power you will get from them, i'd say say the money and get something else. maybe some suspension work!

Just get a better cam.

Forget the rockers and swap out that notcam/twatcam.

One of our sponsors can hook you up with something that makes more power with better drivability.

My drivablity is fine it's all in the tune, I like this little cam, I put down 376 RWHP and 358 RWTQ this last saturday at a dyno day without even thinking about breaking any valve springs or when to check them, I will agree though I may just throw in some 918's to have peice of mind.
