I didn't see any all bore stuff. What about LS2 based strokers for retrofit into current vehicles?

We have 2 of these shortblocks assembled and ready to ship now!

If you want a big bore motor with a factory crank, I'm sure that's something we can custom buil with the Darton sleeves. Or if you want to do something using a cast iron 6.0L block, why don't you give me a call and we can discuss some options.

I know the GT2-3 cam is very mild compared to what some members use, but the nice thing about it is that you can plug it in to a stock engine, with no tuning and see about 30HP.

We have a couple more aggressive cams that we use regularly, and we also carry comp cams complete line, so whatever cam you like, we have you covered.

Just a sidenote, Lingenfelter brings a solid reputation from their experience in the ASA racing series. They build and rebuild the sealed crate engines the teams use as their spec engine, and I can't recall a single race in the last two seasons where a competitor DNF'd due to engine failure.

Thanks for the kind words Crainholio!

You are right about the ASA engines, we're just finishing our 4th season with ASA, and are signed on for a 5th!!!

This is truly an opportunity to get a pro built engine at a budget price

That's my question. I also may want to run a 150 - 200 shot on top of that. Will the stock rods hold up well on a motor spinning to 7000 and maybe N2O?

They have an Oliver Rod upgrade. The stock rods are very stout though. May be a good idea to call and ask.

I asked as well when I talked to Ed yesterday. The rod bolts are upgraded; not exactly ARP brand but equivalent in Ed's mind. Meaning you can spin the bottom end comfortably, but for ultimate comfort with nitrous, get the better rods.

How much more is it going to be if we want forged pistons and rods?

We do have a current option for a very nice set of forged Oliver rods, but they are a little expensive. We can install the Oliver rods for the price of the rods, but that adds almost $1400.00. We are currently looking for a lower priced alternative that doesn't compromise strength.

The Mahle forged pistons that are included in the $2095 shortblock are very high quality, and will have no problem with these power levels.
The rods bolts we use are the same as the bolts we use in the ASA engines, and have also proven to have no reliability issues.

After discussing this issue with our engine assembler, I would be comfortable using this shortblock as is for a 500hp engine with a 150 shot on top of that.
Any higher than that and I would recommend upgrading to the Oliver rod.
You should be able to handle whatever you want to throw at it at that point.

Hope this helps,
Ed

RPM would ultimately depend on cam, & head selection, but these shortblocks are capable of spinning to 6500 RPM no problem.

I know there is a lot of discussion going on about turning 7000 RPM, but to be honest, it isn't really necessary unless your head & cam combo is still making power at that point. If it is, then you should be building a custom shortblock designed for higher RPM. To answer the general question, these shortblocks do have upgraded rod bolts, and are fully balanced and blueprinted, so you can safely spin them higher than a factory bottom end.

Steve, PM me with exactly what you want to do, and I'll figure out a price for you.

Hi Jay

I checked with the sales manager, and these prices are good untill 11/4/04.

To be honest I don't know what it will be after that, I guess if you need a shortblock I would suggest jumping on this while it's a killer deal.

PS. I stated in an earlier post that we have 1 left. We will honor this price on all orders placed before 11/4/04. We just did a few ahead and we're down to the last one.
