Default Ed Curtis (EDC) cam specs

im sure most of you have seen Ed grace our forums and many try and "pimp" free info.

well this is the kind of stuff you get when your a paying customer .

duration @ .050 238/236 .586/.589 112+0

lobes undisclosed

little unconventional looking huh . spec's are often different then you think when there spec'd to your CFM and application requirements.

results will be pending on how fast i can put everything together and get it tuned.

Ed thought of alot of things i wouldnt have in terms of lobe profiles. I had the feeling the whole time that he was looking out for me and using his knowledge to maximize my setup w/ what i gave him to work with as opposed to just trying to make a sale.

from the time of my first contact with Ed to the time the cam arrives at my door it would of taken about 20 days. yes that seems long but when you spend months and months just getting your shortblock and head spec's in order 20 days is nothing for a true custom cam.

Sounds nasty. I like the different ramp rates on the intake vs. exhaust. Should make for some killer power. Keep us posted.

Sounds like a good cam for someone making some good compression on pump gas What's your rocker ratio? Straight 1.7 or did he change it up? For example a 1.9 intake and a 1.7 exhaust?

Good luck w/ the new combo

The proof will be in the pudding, so to speak. I've been waiting (and asking) for successful examples of these cam "specialists" custom cams, and have yet to see anything that good old TR, FMS, LG cams haven't been able to do, if they even did that well. What are the rest of your mods, cubic inches, heads, exhaust, 12 bolt or 10 bolt, etc? I am anxiously waiting for your results, good luck, Shawn

JRP,Looks like you did the right thing.Alot of people don't understand that you need to pick a Cam that works for your individual setup. You contacted someone that matched your Head flow #'s to a certain Cam that can use the head to it'd full potential. This is actually the first post I've seen like this in years
Please post up how you like it after it's running

well i gotta give credit to people like ed, Jarrod, chris, ect, ect. for opening my eyes to the world of true custom and application orientated cams.

i'll tell you one thing; specing, clearancing, flowing, setting quench, ect aint no joke. its added months to my down time but will hopefully pay off when its all said and done

Can't wait to see the results...Too bad it's a Cali dd. I'd like to see the results of an aggressive tune with some 104 with your not-so-low compression...

I should have everything here buttoned-up about the same time you're together. We'll have to compare results...

JRP,
You made a good decision. Ed is top notch at what he does. I had a PM the other day and now that I have pondered it, .050" is kinda like a 12 oz beer.. . .gives everyone a measure that can be understood by mfg, marketer, and consumer, but the real story how its made.
