non-synthetics-the cheap stuff...

It is perfectly safe to switch. It is very rare to see an engine which starts leaking oil when switched to synthetics nowadays.

mine leaked horrribly when I switched it to synthetic. I made the switch at 49k miles. It took about 2k mile for the leaks to become fully evident.
