Default how big is too big for a daily driver (cam)

well, i have an MTI C1 that i was gonna put in my new motor, but lately i've been thinking of something like a 224/224 .581/.581 112 cam, but i'm not sure if that's to big or not. some of you guys with big cam daily drivers let me know what you are running and how it works on the street daily.

For a truck?

A 224/112 is not bad at all, but your powerband will be moved up a lot from stock.

this is for the 370 john, and the .581 lift would be good in this application? i've never really built anything or driven anything with that huge of a cam so i don't know how it will be. if you think it will be ok for daily use i think i'll go with that 224/224 .581/.581 112. i like the way the big cam cars run. the hammer cam isn't that bad but the big cams are always better.

.581 is good for heads that flow up there, what motor combo are we talking about?

the motor is a 6.0 block with a 4.030" bore and ross forged pistons with 2cc valve reliefs. manley h beam 6.100" rods and stock crank.
5.3L ported polished heads with ls1 size intake and exhaust valves. longtube headers no cats. truck intake manifold ported oil pump double chain. svo 30 injectors. i think that's everything, let me know if you need more info.
