Default 10s in an ex-rotary

Hello,

I'm mostly a lurker on this forum, but I thought some might be interested to see that folks are running mid-10s in an LS1 RX7 with a small 62-1 turbo:

http://www.torquecentral.com/showthr...ighlight=turbo

10.6 was the best pass of the day.

(I am building one of these, hence my interest. I always find it amusing to hear someone talking about shaving 50 lbs off a 3600 lb Camaro. The LS1 Mazda is just over 2800 lbs.)

Yep, the conversion takes the whole LS1/T56 from an F-body. (Think of us as body snatchers or grave robbers to the Chevrolet community.)

I would love to know more about this conversion. Is there a shop offerring this? Converted cars for sale? I think the 93+ rx7 bodies were some of the coolest cars, styling wise, ever built. Putting a turbocharged LS1 into one would be insane. I would love to duplicate my engine combo (LS6 w/ T76 GTS turb0) in a 2,800 lb RX7. I am extremely interested. Any information that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

The car later that day supposedly ran 10.40's in the high 130's with a 6speed.

With a T-76 that car would be a handful. All passes were done on the new 255/50/16 M/T drag radials as well and they were able to cut a 1.3x or 1.4x 60' later that day on them.

I have to get my project completed here like Hyperion.

GNX7! Good to see you here, man. Let's see if Hinson can get my subframe back to me before the new year.

Thanks for the offer, but in an excercise in throwing cash down a bottomless pit I'm going with the 03 Cobra pumpkin which uses a different driveshaft and eliminates the torque arm.

-The radiator's been on order for SIX MONTHS?!?
