Default meziere WP319 water pump

Anyone have any idea how much current a meziere WP319 water pump draws? Does the idler pulley have to be driven? can it be removed? The only thing I want to drive is the alternator.

Thanks

I is preferable to have a 3 point pulley system than 2, so yes I would use the idler pulley, it keeps the right tension on the belt rather than having it too tight between 2 points.

I figured just the opposite, by going with a belt directly from the crank to the alternator with a tensioner mounted on top pressing down, the alternator and crank pulleys would have more belt wrapped around them.

If your not using the waterpump pulley then why not switch to a race only pump for half the price. The street version just gives you the heater connections and a place to mount the tensioner. If you already have the street pump I would just route it through the pump. Your not going to lose power with the pumps dummy pulley. I would say 10-12 amp draw from the pump if I had to guess. I just put a 25amp fuse in with no problems yet.
