02 LS6 cam.....?

Re: 02 LS6 cam.....?
i would reccomend not to use a 02 z06 cam. i encountered a problem with an install with one. the diameter is .001 of a degree smaller. it causes the cam sensor to trigger about15 codes, with an ses light and the tach will not register. i reccomend going with an 01 z06 cam or a custom ground cam from comp cams with the same duration lift and center lobe. if done correctly, it might add from 20-30 rwhp and 30-40 ftlbs torque. if you have any other questions feel free to email me at badboyspeed18@yahoo.com

Re: 02 LS6 cam.....?
The only problem I have with my 02 LS6 cam is I can't seem to keep my foot off the gas pedal! No SES lights, no issues, very happy.

Re: 02 LS6 cam.....?
The 01 Ls6 cam 204/211 525/525 116
The 02/03 Ls6 cam 204/218 551/555 117.5
So there is the difference. Higher exhaust duration, higher lift, and higher LSA.........

i didnt see any benefits from this cam until i was tuned.unusual due to the fact that most people say theyve had no difficulties with stock programming.i also dynoed low too. but i seemed to run strong at the track.ill need to redyno again to see if maybe it was off.

Re: 02 LS6 cam.....?
JMHO, I was very close to ordering this cam. I thought it was either the 02ls6 cam or the SLP cam. I went with the SLP cam, it's a little more aggresive and I have headers.

It WAS NOT a cam problem, as you can see, many people have 02 z06 cams in their rides and nothing went wrong. It WAS an installer error.
The car was taken to SpeedDemon and they looked at it, found out that the cam bolts had not been tightened.
Cam problem--no
Cam installer problem--yes

Re: 02 LS6 cam.....?
i've never heard of anything wrong with the zo6 cam throwing codes or anything like that either. my bud has it and with all the boltons he made around 380hp.in my oppion,i would go with like a 218/220 114 or a 220/220 114 thunder cam,you will gain more power and still drive great on the street. why would you want to tear into the motor just to add another factory cam. anyway you choose, goodluck to ya man.

Re: 02 LS6 cam.....?
The reason I just bought an '02 ls6 cam is because I don't plan on any other mods, so there isn't much reason to buy a larger cam. I am also keeping the stock limiter and shift points. I might get some heads but prolly not.
