Default Which cam for me...

my z28 has all bolts ons and stock heads i'm ready to go with a cam , but dont know which one i want yet...i want to make atleast 400 rwhp but i dont want a nasty cam like the t-rex what is a good sized cam that isn't too big or too small that makes 400-425 HP with stock heads and all the bolt ons?

first, welcome to the board, and second your going to be shot at with "use the search button"....just to fore warn you. i like the cam in my sig. not hard to drive on the street and made 398rwhp and 375rwtq minus the ported TB and ASP pulley

u wont make 425 with just cam that isnt pretty sick. u can get close to 400 with a good tune and tr224 i think. do a search and see what people are making what with different set ups. this is something real easy to look up and you prob wont get much help in here cause it pisses a lot of these guys off haha

TSP Magic Stick....do some searches. With good tuning it can be made streetable, I drive my car around all the time, its my daily driver and it sounds awesome too.

well...i think i am gonna go with the F13 cam, doesnt look too terribly big and makes good power from what i can tell...gonna give it a try, what do you think>? now i just have to get one!

thats the one I plan on going with also. I was about to recommend that very same cam too. Has very nice low end torque from what i've seen from search with power capabilities of cams larger than what it is. All of that with quality and reliability, makes for a very encouraging choice.

i had it in my car, and the F13 is an awesome cam. you defintiely wont be disappointed. in a manual you should be maiking very,very close to 400rwhp with it. good luck and hope you enjoy it!

reason i am going with thtis one is....it's a tiny bit smaller...and it works with lower RPM's which i am way into right now i dont wanna take a chance on my engine right now.

damn....wish i could throw a set of heads on at the moment with it also! dont have the funds at the moment, but i will post numbers when i get them should be next month for sure. gotta love CHRISTMAS!

Id take a look at the TR244 cam, I plan on getting one for christmas. Most make 390 -400 rwhp with a good tune and bolt ons. Ive heard its very streetable also.
