"Cheapest" and "best" do not usually accompany each other when speaking of engines.

I agree, HPE built mine for a very reasonable price though. You might want to give Chuck a call.

Here are some pics of my buildup http://mtg.homeunix.com/ls1/408.php

This is the setup you want to go with! The guys over at LME are the best there are in this market! The turn-around time is un-beatable as well! Give them a call, you won't be dissappointed!

I'll be picking my motor up from HPE tomorrow night. The guys at HPE are top notch. They do all their work in house and have the best customer service of any shop I've ever dealt with. It's one thing to be the best at what you are doing and another to suck less than everyone else. These guys are the best!

any time you start asking for something "the cheapest" you are asking for trouble... especially with a stroker engine! Reasearch who has the best service, customer support, and history with LS1 guys... then worry about price last...

If you cant afford it, either save up or dont buy it! Otherwise you will end up with an expensive front yard planter!

Could you PM me or reply here exactly what is included and what upgrade options there are? This is for an assembled shortblock correct?

I am having these guys build mine. Should be done this week if not today.

The 2 main reasons I went with them is 1) their reputation 2) turnaround time (no even else was even close)

Mine was built here in Vegas by Combination Motorsports.
They do all thier work in-house, and have one of the best engine builders around. That is if you consider building engines for the Craftsman Truck Series good experience....

They can also go over all the options with you, and what you plan to do with the car.

Couldn't have said it better.. Price should not be your primary search criteria.. Find a good engine builder and figure out what combo is going to be best for you.

Cheers,

Mark
