The perpetual Cam search
Okay, You've got another novice here. I've been monitoring the site and have been trying to make heads or tails of the discussions on CAMS. About the only thing that makes any sense to me it the meaning of "lift". I've got a 2000 SS and I'm looking for a decent cam for it. I don't want to got too radical because I don't want to spend too much $$ on it. Comp Cams has a couple that sound pretty good to me: (A.) 259in 265ex (duration) .515 in .522 ex (lift) lobe 112 & (B.) 265 in 271 ex (duration) .522 in .529 ex (lift) lobe 114. Do any of these sound worthy? Like I said, I really don't want to do too much else except maybe headers. And by the way...what are the specs on a stock LS1 cam? Thank you much! Kev

Re: The perpetual Cam search
Would I have to worry about changing the heads? I don't want to have a sloppy sounding car. This is my daily driver. Thanks!

Re: The perpetual Cam search
nope, some people run up to a 230 cam on theyre car with stock heads. It will sound close to stock, you will have no reliability problems. You can also choose what LSA you want most cams on (affects sound mostly) the 112 will idle rougher and the 114 will run smoother.
