.583 lift with stock Z06 heads
Hi. I'm going to be doing a Z06 engine conversion on my '99 TA in the next couple of weeks. the cam is @.050 204/218 .550/.550 117LSA(stock Z06 cam). the lift numbers are for 1.7 ratio roller rockers. I purchased a crane cams 1.8 roller rocker package, which would raise my lift to .583. I have also purchased chromaly pushrods(came with the roller rocker kit) and SLP titanium retainers, and heavy duty springs (max spring lift = .600). My question is, is .583 lift too much for piston to valve clearance with my stock Z06 LS6 heads? I tried do a search, but most questions involved milled LS1 heads, so any info would be great.

Re: .583 lift with stock Z06 heads
...i just bought the milled versions which are sitting in my basement....
I think that lift is OK with un-milled heads...
Did you buy the CNC versions from Pace - I saw a complete ZO6 convesion kit and it had an option to get the heads CNC'd ///I assume this option is with heads that are not milled...
...anyway I would suggest the unmilled CNC LS6 heads since they flow a TON and will accept a high lift cam...

Re: .583 lift with stock Z06 heads
I purchased the Pace package withOUT the CNC heads. So they are not CNC'd or milled.
Back when I purchased the package, I was only planning on just doing what came in the kit(and the guys at Pace suggested just going with the un-cnc'd heads). But then I got crazy and decided to do everything. I called about having the heads port and polished, but the local shop wanted over $500, and there is a 2-3 week waiting list before they start it. I'm content with what I bought for now.
So I should be ok?
