yep, more info needed...

you should definitely be running faster with your mods, though... heck, I posted a 12.2 with the same cam but with the crappy stock clutch that wouldn't let me launch properly or shift very quickly.

I think (and I'm not certified for anything) that moving up to a bigger cam is not going to do you any good if you can't supply it the air it needs. Keep this cam and try an LS6 intake and see if that helps any. It helps that the cam is holding the valves open longer, but if your induction system can't keep up with the volume and velocity of air that your cam wants, it makes perfect sense to me that it'd fall on it's face (like in the top-end). That would explain to me why you're hooking so great and then just dying after that, anyway...

I totally agree... since you're hooking strong and getting off the line, I think the problem is with the engine breathing. In fact, I'm pretty sure even the LS6 holds the cam back a little... since this cam likes it above 6k rpms, if you're going to swap intakes I say go with the LSX.

Also, what kind of springs are you using, and where are your shift points? I shift at 6800 rpms for this cam... the LS1 intake becomes a huge restriction over 6k rpms, so I'm not surprised it falls on it's face.

Other than that, you might also want to check to see if the cam is lined up dot-to-dot...

By full tune you are not referring to that HPPIII in your sig right? LS1 intake is your first problem. Then my thought is the tune sucks. MY $.02 By the way ditch the ported MAF and put your stock one back on that could be another problem for you.

I know this might now effect it much, but what about an LS6 oil pump?

With the car being a 98 an oil pump would definitely be an item to get on there :yup:

yeah, put a stock MAF back on.and i could be wrong, but you might need to get it tuned again if the ported MAF was throwing your calibration off.your putting some power down though as your trap speed is 115mph,that should at least get you in the low 12s or high 11s.

RJF,
Where is the $110 you stole from me back in July for the 1998 hypertech?
I got a copy of the signed/cashed money order and the Postal Inspector has started a case.
