Well, with a mild cam like the '02 LS6 cam, and the LS6 heads, dual exhaust you get 405 fwhp...

Stock LS1 cam, 241 heads, single exhaust 350 fwhp...

There you go...

Peace...Gman

M6 is correct in that without knowing what else you have done, it is hard to say. But I took your question to mean a stock for stock exchange. I see now you say a mild cam. Seeing as how the LS6 has a mild cam, relative to the LS1, anyway, I would probably assume you are going to trump the LS6 cam and go with maybe 220 duration at .050 lift-.550 max. lift, etc. In that case, since the stock LS6 cam would be a little down on power compared to this "220-.550" cam you are theoretically installing, and given the fact the LS6 is rated at 405 horses stock, I would think you would pick up around 80 horsepower or so, again keeping in mind that a stock LS6 has 60 horse more than a stock LS1 (depending on model years). OOOOOOPPSS!!! This is at the flywheel, and you asked RWHP! I would say 40 to 50 at the rear wheels would be a safe bet. FWIW!!

Sorry I don't see stock LS6 heads making more power than even respectable stage I ported ls1 heads. Keep dreaming.

LS6 heads with no cam change on an LS1 will give you around 20 rwhp.
1- They are 0.5 bump in CR
2- They flow around 15cfm more

Add a 231/600 lift cam for another 30rwhp

so I would say ~ 40-50rwhp

Thanks, Predator. That is about what I figured/guessed also. I saw one post that said 20 to 30 at rear wheels would be pushing it. I would be mighty disappointed/mad if after all that work and money I only got 20 or 30 more. What he needs to keep in mind here is that the power is the sum of all cylinders together. What I mean is, 20 to 30 at the rear is easily doable with a cam only. Like you pointed out, people forget that the LS6 heads not only flow better, but bump compression also. Breaking down the power increase by cylinder, a 20 horse gain/8 (total cylinders)= what, a 2.5 horse gain per cylinder? A very low estimate IMO, not a pushing it figure. With the cam and heads he is talking, a 5-6 horse gain per cylinder would be very much an "in the ballpark" figure.
