LS6 cam
How tame is this cam?? I'm taking out my comp cam and i'm gonna lose quite a bit of power. Was gonna put a stocker back in it, but people have told me that the ls6 cam is very tame and you can't even hear it in the car, which is what i want. And it has to be a little better than stock.

that's cool. never heard a zo6 up close before, never even seen the inside of one...
I DO want to race one however, before the cam comes out of course

i was running a ls6 cam for a-while. it is a great cam for a stock sound. it makes good power i made 372 rwhp on it. stock engine long tubes w/duals, a couple of other bolt ons. it is very tame & easy on springs. it is also a good power adder cam.

Hi Folks
I have the LS6 Cam - it sounds stock=yes but there is just a little rumble to it over the LS1 cam. It pulls great after 3500 RPMs and is definitely better then the stock cam. Yes you can get a better cam but if you want something that is good for emissions and a daily ride, get the LS6 Cam. I might change the cam in the future but right now I can't keep the tire glued to the road so a big cam would only make it worst.

ls6 cam is superior to the stock cam from 4000rpm +
I'd seriously look into the Stealth cams offered by MTI, or a TR224 on a 114, or an MTI C1 ground on a 114, or TSP's 220 sleeper cam.

I have a Stealth II (404rwhp/383rwtq, cam only + bolt ons) and it is so close to stock that only a trained ear can make out the difference.
Also let me point out that you have LT's+ ORY+ Dynomouth, so even a "stock" cam will not sound so stock.
All you need to do is bump the idle 50 rpms and adjust the AFR.
That cam peaks around 5900 and carries 400 rwhp all the way to 6400 where it dips slightly, I've taken mine till 6700 before but now I shift at 6600 to match my TC shift extensions.
Stealth II is 224/220, .581/.581 116+0 on a Comp XER grind.
Way more powerfull than LS6 cams. I've beaten 230 duration cams quite easily with this Stealth cam.

thanks for all the info guys. I'm still probably just going to go with an ls6 cam. In case i ever trade the baby in, i don't want the dealer thinking there is a cam in it But i would still like to have some of the power over stock, so this cam seems pretty perfect.
