Very noisy valvetrain
After installing my heads and cam my motors valve train is very loud! I have the patriot dual gold springs, comp hardend pushrods, and stock lifters. I have openend my valve covers nothing is broken, no pushrods are bent. What could this be? The car still runs awesome but this valvetrain seems just to noisy.

patriot perf stage 2 5.3 heads with 2.02 1.57 ss valves and gold springs ,63 cc chambers. Thats all I know about the heads. How do I know if they are milled? My pushrods are stock size, 7.4's.

Hey man, when my header bolts came loose on one side it sounded like I had a loose rocker arm...I went and bought new ones, and noticed the headers were leaking when I was tearing the valve covers off to install new ones. It's worth a shot, just make sure all the header bolts are snug.

You've got the sewing machine noise after H&C install. Some are noiser than others. I would think your heads are not milled enough to warrant a smaller pushrod. If all is well other than some noise you may want to just turn up the radio as many cars have this.

Mine is making noise also after cam instal. I understand the sewing machine noise, but it sounds like a loud ticking. Like a loose rocker arm only on the drivers side near the front. I have checked the rocker arms and all is well. I am going to pull the pushrods next. I am wondering if the stock 76,000 mile lifters are starting to give up under the spring pressure. It is really bad on decell. It is driving me nuts.

That's exactly what mine did, it sounds kinda like a squeak almost...my header bolts were pretty loose, and I had Percy's aluminum gaskets on, so from it leaking for a few weeks it blew out a peice of the gasket. You really couldnt tell what it was because it only made noise t certain RPM's and on decel.

Are you talking about a valve seat or spring seat?

I would be worried, because if the seat comes out it will destroy a lot of parts.
