7.350 Pushrods long enough?????
I just checked my pushrods and they are 7.350. i asked earlier in the week what size pushrods I should get with my setup and someone replied 7.400 should be fine. Are the 7.350 good enough???

well, did you mill the heads any? if you mill the heads more than .040 you really should look at getting diffrent pushrods. otherwise, a stock length rod is fine, with a smaller base circle cam like you're tr 230.

7.350 may be fine, it may not. On my setup, 7.350 just BARELY works. If I'd had a 7.330 pushrod it'd be too short. My heads were milled 30 thousanths. If your heads were milled 30 thousanths and your cam's lift isnt too high, 7.350 might be just right. The higher the cam lift, the smaller the base circle, and the less chance of a 7.350" pushrod working.

TEA ussually mills there Heads before they sell them.
Marco, your car sounded fine when I heard it before,so 7.350 is fine for your setup.7.40 will preload the lifter more and give more chance of P/V contact. If your car sounded like it had solid lifters the 7.350's would have been too short.

mill em <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> you can go up to .060 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> heheh..
or just put ths stock p-rods back in. i know you can go .030 and use stock p-rods w/ a smaller BS cam (i.e. comp's stuff). but on non milled heads, i'd definately attempt to keep the factory valvetrain geometry if at all possible.

hmm... I used 7.300 pushrods....now that you mention it, my car does sound like I have solid lifters.... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Can't if you go with to long of a pushrod, you might not be able to torque the rocker arms right, and actually not get them torqued right. Can't remember where I heard that though <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
