I don't know a Lunati 408 kit, just a 383 kit. I think there is a 396 possibly.

Iron block is a 6.0L, 4.0" bore
LS1 Block is a 5.7L, 3.9" bore

Now that the LS2 (6.0L) is available, You can have a 402 aluminum engine

dan is correct.

w/o resleaving there is no way to get an aluminum 408. and if your going to pay all the money to resleave you might as well go 427 . the iron 408 is just simply more cost effictive. but again as dan stated the ls2 blocks are openning up alot of big possibilities

408 = 4.030 bore x 4.00 stroke
402 = 4.00 bore x 4.00 stroke

if you didnt know the ls1's are aluminum block with iron sleaves. they can only take a basic clean up hone. if you want a big bore you'll need to resleeve which entails removing the stock sleeves and having the new bigger bore sleeves pressed in. a fully prepped darton wet sleeve block will run about 2800 bucks.

the only diffrence between a 383 kit and a 408 kit is bore size. The stoke is the same.
