High oil pressure - switched sensor
I changed the oil pressure switch recently (e.g., located in the back of intake manifold) and now the oil pressure reads very high - between 45 - 65 LBS depending upon engine RPM. I'm using the same viscosity engine oil 10-30 Mobile One.
Since I switched pressure guages it seems that my pressure is now running about 15lbs higher than before.
I assume the real oil pressure has not changed and that it is the new switch is casuing the variance in pressure reading on the dash.
Luv that GM quality control!!!

Take it out and go exchange it for a new one wherever you bought it from. Not sure how much they are, but I paid $40 for one that was for my 94 Grand Cherokee 318, enought to where I'd do something about it since the oil pressure guage is basically a must have.

i am having the same problem.. i had to change my oil pressure sending unit in the back of my intake manifold because i accientally broke it off.. my oil pressure seems a tad bit higher than normal.. i've been curious about it.. i couldnt get it back down to torque specs so i don't know if that is my problem or if its just because its a little off?
