it's a 4.7k resistor. and I'm not mistaken, that pic is stolen form one of the install how sites. might be installuniversity.com or ls1howto.com but I remember the yellow wire looms in one of their pics...

I think it tells the computer that it's reading the coolest temp that it will recognise (50 F or something I think) for purposes of allowing timing. So the computer will advance the timing to its max because it reads nice cold intake air. But I could be wrong.

I forgot what it was called....but I have 31 of them on the car now....and I have another 17 going on within the next week. From the original 31 that I put on, I picked up 473 rwhp and 1123 ft/lbs of torque. I am looking for another 200 or so hp from the next 17 I will be putting on. That mod alone shaved 4 seconds off my 1/4 mile (13.3 down to 9.3).......well not just that mod alone....I also added some drag radials!

This is my favorite mod though....I like it more than the Stage 2 heads from Absolute, more than my 230/236 cam...and even more than my Moser 12 bolt.

I recommend atleast 20 of these for any serious car enthusiast!!

The resistor modifies the signal and "fools" the computer to think that the intake air is cooler, thus bumping up the fuel/air ratio and advancing the timing a little, which should give you increased HP, but 20hp may be a stretch. You can get a 5 pack at radio shack for $0.99. Kinda like the skip shift mod. Buy a module for $30 or put in a resistor for $0.20.

Looky here http://www.afterthoughtsauto.com/airtemmod.html

I was thinking along the same lines. I've done similar on other cars. It's almost an OLD SKoOoOL trick now and amazing he's trying to sell it as a "performance mod".

The only thing I would want is the cool looking little blue plug for when i modify my IAT for nitrous, I't would also be cool to have a female version of that plug for my circuit so I dont have to cut in to the harness.

Yes, those weather pack type connectors are cool ! A must for clean looking electrical installations.
