Default Which builders sell just the resleaved block?

Trying to figure out what I want to do to replace my blown motor. Looking for a price on a resleaved block with all machine work done.

Who all does this. Dont say MTI, they wont sell just the block, if they cant do all the work on assembly, and you buy the rest of the rotating assembly themselves. Which I think is pretty

Pursuing all options. Tell me what you know.

I have seen em somewere advertised but cannot think of were. It is odd for a company that sleeves blocks for themselves but do not sell just the block to the general public. BTW, you have a PM.

Whatever is going to hold up to a HUGE amount of nitrous, and be driven on the street a few times a week.

I would probably go dry, they have been proven to hold up to big HP. I don't know of to many big HP wet sleeves yet.

I always thought that the wet resleeved block is better than a dry sleeve block? Correct if I am wrong

darton blocks havent had the dropped sleve issues that dry sleve motors have. as far as where to get blocks from, mti used to sell them. i dunno why they would change. try lme too. pecos knows his stuff, and has produced some very nasty motors.

IMO, if you have a block dry sleeved and it drops a sleeve- the sleeve was improperly installed to begin with. I have never seen one drop from the machine shop I use.

The dry blocks I worked with haven't dropped a sleeve in years. The way we do them is virtually impossible to drop a sleeve.

Steve Dmejian at Race Engineering on here helped develop the Darton setup. So, he can do it for you, and MTI can. Don't know about MTI not selling blocks. I've never heard that.

Other shops may have the tooling, but those two I know for sure do...

Actually Callies Crankshafts is doing alot of LS1 stuff. They are doing blocks with the Darton MID sleeves, and also have some nice, cheap connnecting rods for the LS1.
