I have an LS6 block also, but I put mine there only after the previous owner decided to make the 5th and 6th rod bearings dissapear.

What method did you use. I crawled up under my car a couple of years ago
to snap this shitty pic. I know it doesn't mean much but it's kind of unique for our cars):

I had an LS6 block in my car from the factory until I hydrolocked it, I replaced it with a crate LS6 engine.

I thought it was kinda unique that it had that block but there's no real additional value in having that block except for the revised oiling abilities.

Cheers

Sorry, only '01s and '02s had a chance of getting the LS6 block.

You need to crawl up under your car (you'll probably need to jack it up a little) and look for the number (12561168):

If youre good enough, you can look at it and tell. Theres little charactistics and the color is completely different than a LS1 block.

Here's a thread from last July that discussed the 'bullseye' mark that can be used to differentiate the 2 blocks. If you have the bullseye then you have an LS1 block- probably. You still need to check the casting number to be sure.

Damn... I can't see the entire number, but I'm 99% positive the 2nd to last digit is 7. Question: Did automatics get LS6 blocks too? lol, my transmission is in the way.

If I'd seen this earlier, I wouldn't have even crawled underneath my car. I DEFINATELY know that stupid bull's eye mark is there.
