Default yes another Vinci head test

this one will be on the wife's car. it is to finish up their stage IV package. all information about her 99 formula is here: http://stealthram.com/1999pontiacformula.html

99 pontiac formula
automatic
stock converter
3.23 gears
stock ls1 intake
VHP airlid
VHP air filter
VHP MAF ends
VHP/Crane 1.89 accelerated lift rocker kit
VHP/Crane dual valve springs
bassani 1 5/8" optimum length headers w/hi-flow catted y-pipe
borla catback

on jan 12th, i will be taking it out to the track for some final current numbers on both NA and N2O.
then, on jan 14th, i will put in on the dyno for current numbers as well.

original post about the heads here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...highlight=head

was supposed to go on back in november. but, the tranny went out in the 00 formy (my car).

now, what i'm looking for is input on what you are looking for in this test. what parameters? what information about the swap? that way, when this does happen, all your requests about information will be considered. and there won't be any dispute over numbers and how the testing was accomplished.

intake 224cc
exhaust 80cc
chamber 63cc
4.8L heads that VHP CNC ported and added Ferrea 2.02/1.60 valves.

This should make it a little easier for all.

i guess you are wanting to compare them to someone else. that particular flow chart is over 3 years old. doesn't necessarily reflect the port work done on my heads and improvements made since that flow chart was made. once i do get the flow sheet, i'll put up the numbers.

Jay from AS is way behind on orders, and we removed his banner until he makes all the folks whole. Go ahead and post that info, it is a tech board, but keep in mind that he's exactly mr popular in the sponsor feedback forum.

Those flow numbers are nothing to get excited about. There are better stage 2 LS1 heads out there. Thanks for posting facts though.

Well edited my previous post as that chart was not reflecting your head's true flow.

we will await the actual flow chart.

Those are very good numbers for a 5.7 casting. The cool thing is they flow all the way to .700" so your cam selection is almost infinate.224cc is nice as well.

predator-z - thank you.

bigdsz- this test is not to see how it compares to your AS heads. it is to compare against the stock LS1 853 castings that are on her car. there will be no stirring of the pot. thanks for your info though. and as i said, those are not the flow numbers for MY heads. so, hold of on your comments and comparisons until i post them.

Anymore nonsense posted in this thread will get edited out. This thread is about a head test being performed at Vinci nothing else.

Are the Vinci heads ported in house as with a number of the other sponsors, or are they sent out to a shop that CNC's heads for them and others?

majority of port work done out of house to VHP CNC specs they have a CNC profile on disc where they have it done at. all the finesse parts, (bowl area, chamber work, hand porting to get rid of the CNC marks and make final shapes, cutting of the seats and valves, etc) are done in house. only reason why they don't do the CNC part of it is because they don't have a CNC machine.

but, my original question in starting this was what parameters would you like to see in this test.

but, i don't mind asking questions about the heads either.

There's no tech to this comment Sam, you're just bringing down the tone of the thread with comments like this.

Can't keep quiet anymore. SAM98WS6 why do you keep following around mrr23 threads and posting up negative comments. I have been following a couple of the threads started by mrr23 and keep seeing you consistantly posting with negative comments. All this thread is about is to state that he is going to provide a back-to-back comparision test.
