I use timesert exclusively for thread repair, this is the only repair recognized by rolls royce and jaguar. Way better than any heilicoil repair.I don't know if they make 11mm
though.Kind of expensive for a one time deal as you must by a kit for each size of thread ,then you can just buy the inserts bulk later. We use them all the time for motorcycle cam caps that ham handed wrenches ruin all the time.

I just bought the kit directly from Time Sert...$358 delivered. If you buy the same kit with Kent-Moore on the lid it runs $479. Local machine shop charges $35 a hole to install these inserts...GM dealer wouldn't even talk about doing it unless it was part of a bigger repair.
Too bad you don't live closer I could help you out...

I made a mistake on the price from Kent-Moore...here's the reply I got from them...
"Thank you for your recent request. Item number J-42385-100 is currently $567.61. You may place an order for this item with us via phone, fax, or e-mail. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me."
The price I paid for the same number kit from Time Sert was $358.26 which included shipping. Time Sert can be reached at www.timesert.com, there you will find a phone number that you can call and place your order with a credit card. You get 10 inserts with the kit but you can buy more from them in packs of 10 for about $2 an insert.
BTW I have since bought a master Time Sert kit that has the same 11Mx2.0 parts as the original one I bought fromTime Sert. My machine shop used this Gen 3 kit to install only 1 insert so it's virtually new...if you had something to swap that would be in the $358 range then we could possibly work a deal on this kit and you could save some money. Drop me a line at CharlieLed@***.net if you're interested.

$97 is a really good price...be sure that you get ALL the tools needed for the job though. There are two head bolt depths on the Gen 3 engine, the milling bit cuts to the proper depth and cuts the necessary shoulder for the insert. This isn't as simple as a spark plug thread, the depths have to be precise. The other part that is crucial in the thread insertion tool, it rolls the lower threads and swedges the insert into the new bolt hole. This is the tool that you can't buy by itself and it is what is needed to chase the threads on all head bolt holes whenever installing new bolts.

They should start a list it the tool section with people who have special tools that are willing to loan out for a few bucks. It sucks when you spend 360.00 bucks for something that you will only use one time hopefully.
