Default F13 Cam in and fired up!

Got her in and patched up along with springs, headers,Y-pipe,Oil pump,Double Roller, and a pulley. I left the Heater on when i turned her off last and i totally forgot so she had trouble catching Idle at first. She sounds awesome, through the cut out and she was loping pretty nice, shaking up the door since it was open. I'm getting her tuned tomorrow, so i'll post the graph up in the dyno section.

Nice! I just got mine in last week. How do you like the lope? I dig it. Honestly wish it was lumpier. Does yours hunt for idle at stop lights, ect? Mine has no problem idling at 650-750 when it finds it.

Keep us posted on the new tuned numbers.

It hunts just a little after a rev, but it finds it at about 750. I love the lope, and since i got a catted Ypipe from tsp, it sounds very clean and very deep. Cant wait to get her tuned tomorrow. Thanks for everything guys! the only reason i felt comfortable doing this myself was because of all the great info on this site, and Ls1howto.

Yeah, I wouldnt have had the confidence to do the cam swap without jmX's ls1howto. That guy has massive karma coming to him. Taking the time to do the write up and take pictures and then to put it up on the web for free. And to top it off the write up wasnt half assed. Very thorough and tells you exactly what you need down to what size tools. I bet over half the people on the board owes him credit for the helpfull info with the cam install.

It is so awesome when the motor fires right up and you get to hear the cam idle for the first time through an open ypipe. Which headers do you have?

Pacesetters, slid right in, with no clearnace issues. I have to get used to the sound of my car now, with any little new noise I get paranoid.

BTW there is some smoke comming from the passanger side towards the back of the engine close to where the PCM is. The smoke doesnt start till it warms up, and I dont hear any ticking noises so I'm pretty sure it's not an exhaust leak, It smells like Antifreeze. I'm hoping its just oil, and coolant burning off the headers/block.

If i can remember correctly mine did the same thing when i first cranked it up with the headers. It goes away pretty fast though.

if im not mistaken don't most companies coat their headers in some sort of oil to help repel moisture while in packaging? Mine smoked for a bit after i first fired my car when iput my pacesetters...has kind of a weird sweet/burnt oil smell to it?

hope ya enjoy the new toys!

mine smoked for about 15 minutes heavy lol.. i think it was like a outside layer of coating burning off for the first 15 minutes or something that it was hot, never done it since, no oil or anything like that burning.. goodluck, let us know when u get some #'s
