Default Year-vs-Heads

I read a post on another F-Board that said that only head castings from 97-98 will fit 97-98 cars. Meaning the new Patriot heads (LS6, stg 2) that I just bought will not fit my 98 formula. I do not believe everything I read on the internet, and I also don't believe that the vendor would have sold me these knowing that my car is a 98 model. SO basically what I am wanting to do is run this by other F-body owners, and mechanics to clarify this for me for peace of mind,, or to let me know yeah those heads won't fit and how much you want for them! Thanks a bunch

The heads will bolt right up so do not worry about that. But here is the kicker you have a 98 (best year to have in some sence) so your vavle covers are peremeter bolt. Did you by peremeter bolt heads or did u buy center bolt heads. This is for the vavle covers not the head bolts.

yeah they are centerbolt and I also got the shaft mounted rockers, so this means I will need tall aftermarket sheetmetal valve covers and relocate the coils? thank you for clarifying this for me, I'll sleep a little better and will wake up and explain exactly why I need to spend 3 or 4 hundred more on the car to my wife. Thanks

You can use the stock rockers and get the center bolt covers so you dont have to spend 300-400 on the car.

i didnt have much pain after my root canal, even after the gas wore off.

keeping it tech: if you dont have the valve covers and coil pack brackets best place to pick up a set is ebay.

Only reason i am in pain is because the stiches are poking the holes.

what shaft mounts? i have jesel SS shaft mounts and basically gutted the whole under side of the cover. i !pcv system so that was no problem. after clearancing they fit fine . if you dont want to do that you'll need spacers, i believe SPDC has some available, TR also has them and they come with longer plug wires as well.
