Default Comp 918s enough spring for a TR 227/224 or TR 230/224?

Are Comp 918s enough spring for a TR 227/224 or TR 230/224? Asking for a buddy of mine, hes going to order the cam "kit" from TR, and wants to know if these springs are enough for the 227/224 or 230/224 (leaning towards the 230/224 fwiw).

Thanks, Shawn

I just finished a 382 setup last night and it has a comp X-er 230/232 .592/.595 114 +2 and I used 918's on it. I've installed them in several cars with cams in the .59x lift range. They are all still going strong.

Only when you get to .600 or more lift is the only time I "feel" better about runnin 921s, PRCs, or Patriots. One advantage of runnin a dual is if you break a spring there is less likely a chance of droppin a valve.

No offense but, that is one of the worst things to say about using a dual spring. If an outer spring breaks..it's just as good as a single spring in terms of dropping a valve or hitting a piston.

I have broken down heads that have dual springs that the outer was broken and it didnt drop the valve but did make contact with the piston. All that I was referring to was its less likely to drop if a spring breakage occured. With the outer spring broken it lost alot of strength and couldnt close the valve fast enough but atleast it didnt drop it.
