Default Tricks to change rear passenger spark plug

I changed 7 of my 8 plugs this weekend. Don't know how to get to that back passenger one.

Are you guys coming in from the bottom or removing parts to get in there?

Either way, its going to be a bitch.

Go from the bottom. It's easy that way. I could NEVER get my arm in from the top.

Remove the coil packs from the valve cover and get a one inch wobble extension and its easy as pie from the top. Will take you maybe 5 minutes once you do it once .

yea, once you get the last coil pack bolt out and pitch it changing plugs on that side is easy. Doesnt take long at all to take the coils off (unless its a 98) and it makes swapping plugs so much easier. You can climb underneath but for me its easier to pull the coil pack then then jack up the car..

i agree. going from the bottom was pretty easy for me also when i had the stock exhaust, but after the longtubes its not quite as easy. i find it easier just to pull the coil packs off. good luck!

With FLP LT headers It's easer from the bottom, With QTP's It's a little more dificult, I have to get at the spark plug from the top.

As 99T/A said, the extension helps. I also found that if put electrical tape on it so it doesn't flop around, that speeds things up too. For the install, an old spark plug boot or a small piece of 3/8" hose helps tons when starting the threads.

FYI, disconnect the battery when doing the passenger side from the bottom... You don't want to hit the starter with a watch or ratchet and get zapped.

It was really tough when I had stock manifolds, but now with the LTs its much easier, but I still get it from the bottom.

Sounds good guys. Coil pack is coming off!!! I haven't checked how it looks from the bottom.

I would also take the valve cover for a little extra clearence and to avoid gettin snagged on the bosses. I can't get in there without them off.

When breaking it loose, removing, and reinstalling I find it easier to also kneel on the battery, put my right arm on the cowl and use me left to do the loosening/tightening.
