Default forgive me for asking

when talking about oil... what do the numbers mean? 10w 30 5w 30 0w 40 etc... sorry for such noob question just wondering what the numbers mean.

They refer to the relative viscosity or thickness of the oil. The first number is the cold (engine not running) thickness, the second number is the thickness after it heats up.

The higher number the thicker the oil is.
