I saw that too, looks like a hell of a deal. I think Eagle's initial problems were involving clearencing the weights of the crank, not sure though.

We run Eagle cranks and rods in our motors and also Scat rods. We haven't had any major problems with them so far. I ran into a small problem when you run a 4.00 Eagle crank and Mahle pistons, when the piston goes to BDC the crank will hit the piston because the bottoms of the pistons are straight on the pin boss where as the Wiseco are rounded.

i thougth that eagle cranks were not balanced, and you had to spend like $700 to balance them, wich is why i think lingenfelter or some of the other sponsors used cali cranks over them. pls correct me if iam wrong!!

I believe the kit sais it is balanced in Jegs. They have been known to misquote information before though.

Damn, $700 for a balance? Thats almost the price of the crank itself. I got my kit from TSP which was able to price match Keith Craft. They claim to come internally balanced, but I had a machine shop balance mine, cost around $120, on top of $2100 for the rotating assembly (eagle crank, rods, and JE pistons). Been running this set-up for a few months now and do not have any problems what so ever. No clearance issues, no balance issues, no oil consumption, and more power than my street tires know what to do with :p

Assembled the motor myself as well, only modification I had to do was putting a little notch in the excess aluminum under the sleave where the ARP rod bolt might hit, nothing major. I'd go with eagle again with out thinking twice!

Good price for the Eagle kit is 2200 bucks or less and average balance job cost is 150-175.

I've actually got the car running pretty good MAFless, but have the stock MAF plugged in right now. I might either go with an LS6 85mm MAF, or just delete the MAF completley, and get some good sized hose or bellows of some sort to connect to the TB. I'm running the stock intake and TB now, but hope to upgrade to 90mm stuff soon More questions answered here https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...23#post2365023
