i just bought me my 00 z28 with a m6 in it it has 45,000 right now and seems to run fine. is there anything i should look into replacing with this much time on the motor? also i think i noticed roker arm chatter is there some way to fix that or is it normal in our motors?

Are you going to be racing it? I'll assume yes.
(not all the internal stuff)
Shifter, the stock one is awful and will make redline gear changes risky. Get a Pro 5.0 or Kirban. This $170 can and will save your engine.
Rear end fluid
Fuel filter
I'd replace the stock pushrods and stock springs for some Ls6 springs (or 918's) and cromoly pushrods.
That's a few things that I think you need to start with.

Rear end fluid and fuel filter cant hurt to change. The stock pushrods are probably fine as long as they are straight, I wouldnt put hardened pushrods in and the stock springs are fine with the stock cam. Maybe check the rotors for cracks or warpage.
There's really nothing to check. Tons of people have a lot more miles on their car than that and havent done anything to the motor or tranny/rear.
The rocker arm noise is probably normal, these engines are louder than usual in that regard.

It is a great idea to regularly replace all fluids. Do not forget the tranny, or the power steering. I bet the power steering fluid looks brown and smells burned.

Re: 45,000 should i check or replace anything
I bought my '98 Z M6 with 45k on it. I replaced the following within 2k miles:
Cam
Timing chain
Oil Pump
Driveshaft
Clutch
Rear End
Exhaust Manifolds
Y-pipe
Exhaust pipe
The above parts were terribly worn out. I highly suggest you replace them all as quickly as possible. <img border="0" alt="[evil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />
