you need to do a search, there is a four page discussion about this cam on the second or third page.

but yes it will work, how well will you like it, i dont know? you could get by, but it will be so much better after you get it tuned!

The hotcam is one of the only cams in that size area you wont be "alright" with on stock tune.

I second that, my car would hardly run until I tuned it. I was able to get it cranked but it was miserable to drive until it was properly tuned.

The Hotcam is a good choice in a stock tune situation, you should be fine! If you want more there is a ton of choices out there and lots of opinions, one that we sell alot of besides the Hotcam is the ZO6 CAMSHAFT!You would need a tune for that one and other mod's,but worth it!

It's ok with an M6, but an A4 does require tuning... there's a couple of guys in my local area with A4s and Hot Cams, and they didn't run well at all without a tune.

The Z06 camshaft is MUCH milder than the Hotam. Why would he need a tune for the Z06 but be ok with the Hotcam?

its the cam that never dies.

you need a tune, HC i installed for a local guy would barely run and stay idling. in gear idle w/ the a4 is like 550rpm, m6 is 750.

OPPS~ was not thinking on this!~sorry! I will say this regarding the HOTCAM,we have several cars out there that were non-tuned,some of which have had some idle issues W/O tuning we have drilled 0.080" hole in the throttle blade to help the idle!Since I was way off on that,I will say we did a 2000 t/a with stock gears, hotcam, and a crane tuner and it made great HP! IT even picked a little more when we installed KOOKS headers.
We understand that valve lift is not the key,as where i goofed in my reply, duration is it!
