White stripes on valve springs???

I replaced my springs and retainers yesterday on my AS heads....The old springs had white stripes on them. Anyone know what kind these are??? I replaced them with Comp Blue stripes.......

If they had white stripes then they are old 918s. After wear and tear and the oil contamination the blue stripe tures white. I have lots of these springs that I take off of cars.
