I was just wondering what the normal oil pressure is at idle? I think that mine has dropped some and not sure whether I should be worried now or if I can wait a little while longer before buying the ported oil pump and timing chain.

Here's mine, also a 1998 with 48K miles running 5W30 dino:
45-50 psi cold idle
40-42 psi hot 1000+ rpm
30 psi hot idle

Thinking about buying a Katech ported LS6 oil pump. Have you decided on which aftermarket oil pump?

I was thinking about buying the TSP ported LS6 oil pump. Mine seems to have the same psi as yours does, although it is less than my wife's 2000.
