Default Have some CR questions about 6.0L heads??

From what I understand, the 6.0L heads are about a half point lower in CR than 5.7L heads, is this correct? Is the combustion chamber size around 71.25cc for a 6.0L head?

If so, what I’m trying to figure is what my CR would be on my engine. I am going to go FI, and want to drop CR as low as possible but want to know if there is a downside in my thinking.

I have a built forged motor, 3.905 bore. My pistons come out to be .008” BELOW THE DECK with -2cc valve reliefs. Let’s say I use a .054” compressed head gasket with some un-milled (maybe clean up cut) 6.0L heads, what would my CR be? I was thinking it would be around 9.5:1 or so. How far off am I?

TIA,

Dan

its more like .3 CR difference stock vs 6.0 heads.

using your calculations i come up with 9.33 CR. you are sure the pistons are .008 in the hole?

Yes, engine builder spec'd them at +.008". I measured them (straight edge and Micrometer, not as accurate) at +.010". I know they are Ross piston's, and they are absolutley in the hole.

9.33 sounds pretty good . Who makes some decent flowing/priced S2 6.0L heads out there?

define "decent". for a budget you cant beat a PP LQ9 head. w/ the upgraded valves your looking at under 1500 bucks.

Decent, meaning I don't need top of the line heads. As long as they are well done, quality heads without issues that flow well and no core, I'm good to go!

PP is on the top of my list. Does sdpc carry ported 6.0L heads?

SDPC carries PP heads, yes. i'd go with the PP's from FFHP since they are already upgradedd with Rev valves if i remember right..
