What would you suggest, Heads and Cam or Rear mounted Turbo
I was wondering what to do with my money. I've been wanting heads and cam for awhile now. But then i've seen the rear mounted turbo and I was thinking about that too. Any suggestions

What do you plan to do with the car? Turbo will give you the power with complete stock driveability. Head and cam cars tend to be more relaible but the STS system is proving to be a great system.
We are a dealer for STS, AFR and have our own engine packages as well. Not too far from you too. Give me a call if you want to chat.

It will depend on your goals. H&C cars are nice and so are turbos but I personally like building up the engine first so I can run more boost once I get the turbo. Installing a H&C will also help you understand your engine more if you do the work yourself.

If you ever want to run more boost then you will need to build up the engine anyway. So might as well do it all in a progressive order. Unless you enjoy taking the turbo on and off to get to other parts of the engine. It has nothing to do with following just thinking. If you will never run more boost and you are happy with the performance then get a turbo or play it smart and build your engine up and top it off with a turbo. It is hard to decide though, I know that.

i'd do heads/cam first. depending on your funds, you could do 6.0 heads and a FI cam to prepare for the boost later on. if you can't afford to do both, then just pick your favorite.

turbo first... its rear mounted so its not like its going to make it a pain to work on later.
once thats done, its only a couple hundred for a cam.... so do that..
really, you dont need to do heads at that point since the limiting factor will be "how much power do i think the bottom end can take"...
assuming you got a mild cam, the motor will remain 100% reliable daily driveable... and it will have more power then most people on here.. lol.

it would help to see wat you got but..........
Your engine is like an air pump, the more air in and the more air out; the more power it is capable of producing. If you have stock heads and slap a turbo on it, you wont benefit completely from all of the air being forced into the pump. Now, if you had a set of ported heads and a cam that allowed for more air to be delievered, your pump will be more efficient in recieving and making power with all that new air than the stock heads.
There are tons of heads and cam packages out there and with this, IMO, you get wat you paid for. for stock cubes, a 2.05/1.055 is a good size with a FI cam. It would help to upgrade not only the valve spirngs but your rockers, lifters, and pushrods. Your making sure your pump sill handle the up and coming forced induction.
Dude, when you drop the heads and cam, trust me, you'll like the new power. On a stock motor, expect to be into the deep 12'z, maybe the 11'z or 10'z....its been do before many times. with the turbo on top, foget it..you be flying!!!
Driveability is all in the tune. Get a good tune from someone that knows and the craziest cam will be daily driveable respectively.
