P to V question with cam and 1.8 rockers
I am currently putting all the parts together to do a cam only swap in my truck. The engine is a 5.3L. I already have a VHP 062 cam (210/218 @ .050, .551/.551) and Crane dual valve springs which are good for .650 lift. The original plan was to just get some 7.4 hardened push rods and call it a day, but I've come accross this pretty good deal on a Crane 1.8 variable rocker kit. I figure a little more lift can't hurt, right? If it will fit.
I know that when I do the install, I must degree the cam and I plan to do the valve drop method of checking P to V clearance since the heads will be staying on.
Before I buy the rocker kit though, I thought I'd ask the more experienced people here their opinion. Do you think I'll be okay with the 1.8 rockers, or should I keep the stockers?
Thanks.

All .551 cams Vinci sells have adequate clearance when used with stock heads and 1.8 rockers, per their valvetrain web page. I have PP ls6 style heads with a VHP Boss II camshaft, 1.8 rockers, spring kit, crane dual chain, no issues .095 P/V intake with an .042 compressed head gasket. Still a good recommendation to verify all of YOUR clearances, before you touch ignition key
