Default What crank socket to use?

Do I just need one for any chevy SBC? This is the socket to turn the crank (without a crank bolt in there) for cam degree or clearance check.

That won't work. There isn't a keyway for the balancer so, there is nothing for the socket to index against.

OK. My crank sprocket is off so that key made me think it would work.

So, for us I have to use the crank bolt to turn the crank and then hold the crank or flywheel to get the crank bolt back off?
