What crank socket to use?

What crank socket to use? Do I just need one for any chevy SBC? This is the socket to turn the crank (without a crank bolt in there) for cam degree or clearance check.

OK. My crank sprocket is off so that key made me think it would work.
So, for us I have to use the crank bolt to turn the crank and then hold the crank or flywheel to get the crank bolt back off?
