Default H/C Upgrade Complete - 437rwhp

After a year of research, my H/C upgrade is finally done.

Basically went for the Tony's AFR solution:
AFR 205 milled .024
224/228 114 LSA
LGM LT with random cats
FAST 78mm Intake
30lb Fuel Injectors
LS6 ported Oil pump
Performance Dampner
Oil Catch Can
etc. etc.

I 've had the car back a week and haven't had much time to drive it due to our rainy weather.

After the initial round of tuning we got 437 rwhp, I am not dissapointed. We should probably find a bit more but that's not bad.

There are two issues we are dealing with:

1) There is a whistle under low throttle. Mechanic couldn't find the source of the noise. Is this something I need to worry about? I would think that this could be introducing more air that the PCM could know about.

2) About 1/3 of the time when I start the car after being fully warmed up, it won't idle and dies. RPM drop to 800 and then just drops until it dies. What is up with that. The tuner hasn't had a chance to look at it yet.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Congrats on the power. Idle is a hot start tune issue. Easily fixed. The whistle sounds like a small leak in the intake track. Check all of the intake track connections.

How much RWT was there. Can you post a graph?

What air filter? My car whistles at light throttle when I have my Halltech Stinger intake installed. With the stock intake, it's silent. Noboby else reports this with a Stinger, so it's just something *special* about my car.

Nice numbers!

Didn't Tony start out with the fast 78mm then swithed to the 90/90 fast setup and gained 20 Hp?

As far as the hot start problem, it's all in the tuning.

Nice numbers with a fairly small cam. What was the torque?

I will post the dyno graph when I find some time. I believe that the TQ was just over 400.

If thats the AMW catch can, that may be the source of your whistle....My girlfriends car had that problem....just pinch one of the hoses going to it, and if its the catch can, the noise will go away.

Nice #'s btw!

Mine whistles to and I haven't been able to find it. I haven't checked the catch can though! I will though!
