Default Stock Crank Weight?

I read somewhere that the stock LS 3.622 crank weighs 143 lbs? If that true an aftermarket crank weighing appox. 50lbs is a no brainer upgrade??

Where did you come up with 143 LBS? I just put a stock crank on my bathroom scale, it weighs 51 LBS.... I never heard of anyone changing the crank to save weight.

You really couldn't lighten the crank any or it would be out of balance, weakened, or both.

Stock is anywhere from 53-54.

The strokers are ~ 48-55 depending on manufacturer.
Callies typical LS1 stock stroke cranks are 44-45, and you can get them as light as 34.

142 lbs.?, Good Grief! The crank in my 622 doesn't even weigh 100 lbs.

Try 55ish for a LS1 crank or call an engine builder for the precise number.
