Default 1 for the engine master-How much oil in the pan when engine is running

Here's the scenario, LS1 engine has 6 qt's in the pan, when engine is running how much oil would normally be left in the pan and how much oil would be running around the engine?

It depends on the engine RPM, at higher RPM more oil will be up top for sure.

I would say at idle, most is in the pan....

at redline, most is in the valve covers.....

Give it a try, hold the revs at redline and check your dipstick

If my engine had a dipstick and I had a spare pair of hands then maybe yes I could try that.
