Default another cam recommendation plz

I have a 98 z 64k on the 346 with an a4 3.73s 3800 stall 1 3/4 longtubes with 3inch xpipe with magnaflows ls6 intake asp pulley. Car weighes about 3150 without me in it. I want a cam that will maximize the stock heads car is not a daily driver so driveability is not too much of an issue but i would like it to idle fairly decent. I do plan on adding a 100 shot after the cam. Let me know what you guys think and who has good cam package prices?
thanks
jay

FM14 or FM15. Both would get you low 11's high 10's with that weight. With a 100 shot 10's are cake.

Tire size & gearing are going to play a big part in a max effort stock head car. If you weren't going to spray it, I would say something like a Ron Jeremy from Futral, or a T-Rex from Thunder, with 4.10's or 4.56's, but on the Jug you are going to run out of gear & don't need as much gear to get out of the hole on the spray due to the torque you are going to make down low so a 3.73 would probably word. The other option is if you run out of gear to go to a taller tire like a 28". You can always call Futral & get their recommendation, or have a custom cam ground. Maybe even a solid roller setup for stock head's.

The G5X2 isn't overkill for stock heads, the T-Rex is a cam that's designed for max effort stock headed applicatons. But I would really recommend calling someone like Futral & telling them what you want & getting a custom cam or having them recommend a cam to you.

This is really a loaded question that's beat to death on these boards.

I think a TSP 231/237 would work well for you as long as you get a good dyno tune.

Amen to that! Go to Comp Cams, or whoever like I did and let them help you!

All those big Cams are useless when running 98 style heads. If you want to run a big Cam like that pick up some 01-02 Heads for 2-300 to go with it.98 Heads can give up 30-50rwhp over the newer heads when ussing a big Cam.

So if you were to switch from the stock 98 heads and were only going to go back with a stock head, which one will yield the best results in stock (read cheap) unported form?

and yes I did a search...it was a little overwhelming...
