Default Car died on startup, started again rough idle, shut off, ran fine, WTF?

Ok, I was going to lunch and went to start my car. Cranked over and it died, did not even fire. Ok, odd. Start it again, give it some gas to get more air etc in, runs REAL rough, instead of the normal grumble, it was missing real bad. Let off the pedal, dead. WTF? Open the hood, check all wires, check all sensors, look for leaks, nada. Get back in, crank it over, nothing. Crank it over with gas pedal again, fires up, runs a little rough, then settles down. Ok??? Go for a drive, idle seems sticky, lingering and idle is as 1100-1200 instead of normal 850. I also drove down the road a bit and took it out of gear, revved it, missed real quick in the begening, then it was fine. No SES, gauges read good, 93 gas in tank and full, I have no clue wtf is going on here.
Any ideas? I was thinking, o2's or plugs fouled, but if it was missing I thought it would throw a code?
thanks
-Steve

Doesn't matter, just scan it and/or find out which slug is not firing right.

even with one cylinder gone it should still run....poorly but run nonetheless. messed with anything lately? i'd try resetting the computer, and doublechecking all the electrical connections as well as making sure all the plugs are alive/getting spark like P-Z said.
