Looks like about $28 more for a set...if they last 3-4 times longer???

I would buy them.

I have been running iridium plugs for about 30k miles in my SS.
Checked them recently, they are still in very good shape.
When they were brand new, they were gapped at .047,
30k miles later, they are gapped at .048.
