Default Can you guys reccomend a short block?

I blew my short block after 6K miles. I am thinking of buying a new shortblock but dont know who sells good ones for a reasonable price? Still undecided about staying stock displacement or maybe SLP 402 or something? Any advice?

Try Bryan at LME >>>>>sponsor in Houston TX.
I'll be getting a longblock from them, and out of a lot of them who didn't bother to answer e-mails, or just ignoring my requirements by giving me X when I wanted Y.
LME has been the most proffessional. Bryan sends an e-mails and checks on it at the end of days to make sure. He also listens to your questions and demands, and in my book that is the way to do business.
Give them a try.

APE says your motor is on the house if it doesnt ship by the date specified

there was a recent thread about it, 2 guys got free motors

don't base your decision on this though, these were of course freak occurances and i'm sure the APE guys are trying their best not to let it happen again (the being late part). this just speaks of the character of APE's staff and owner(s). send some emails, make some calls, read some posts, count your cash lol, it will all come to you in a matter of time.

HPE sells a nice 408 shortblock. check out the sponser section, a company might be having a shortblock sale or somthing.

good luck on your search and with not blowing your next motor......for a while.....

No core, the block is included. If you supply the block you can knock 600 dollars off the price...
